Registered Nurse Med Surg | Mathiston, Mississippi

Step into a dynamic nursing environment providing essential care for a diverse patient population, including medical, orthopedic, general surgery, GIP, telemetry, and stepdown patients. This contract position is for a 13-week duration, starting November 9th, based in a thriving medical-surgical unit.

Schedule/Hours:

• Rotating shifts
  • Rotation 1: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, Thurs, Fri
  • Rotation 2: Wed, Thurs, Fri, Tues, Wed, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues
• Weekend duties: Every 3rd weekend
• Holiday coverage: Possible requirement
• On-call: Potential

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with unrestricted status
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in medical-surgical nursing
• Proficient in EPIC electronic medical records
• Confident managing a 5-7 patient assignment, including multiple total care cases
• Strong clinical knowledge across a broad range of presentations: ortho, general surgery, telemetry, and more
• Excellent critical thinking and decision-making abilities
• Outstanding communication and patient education skills

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and deliver nursing care to a varied patient caseload
• Accurately document care using EPIC EMR system
• Perform complex assessments, monitoring, and interventions as needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs and unit demands
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing care

$1,815 - $1,920/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
