Step into a dynamic medical-surgical/telemetry role supporting adult patients with a focus on complex kidney, liver, and trauma-related diagnoses. Contribute your clinical expertise as an RN within a renowned Level I trauma and teaching hospital recognized for its Magnet status and advanced specialty centers. This contract opportunity offers valuable exposure to diverse patient populations and collaborative, multidisciplinary support.
Schedule & Hours:
- Weekend rotation required: every other weekend
- No on-call shifts for travelers
- Expectation to work most holidays (75%)
- Up to 6 days of requested time off (not including holidays); additional time may be negotiated at contract close
Required Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum of two years’ med-surg/telemetry experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Proficient in general med/tele nursing: stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach management, IV/PIV skills, NGTs, drain/tube management, and PCA pumps
- Experience with medication drip management (cardiac drips, heparin, fluid/blood products)
- Familiarity with Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitoring
- Willingness to float within assigned region and scope
- Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from unit
- Flexible to support a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess, monitor, and care for patients with acute kidney/liver conditions, surgical complications, and trauma
- Manage advanced medication protocols and administer various drips and blood products
- Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond to stroke or emergency protocols
- Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Self-monitor patient telemetry; no monitoring tech support provided
- Float between designated regional facilities as needed
