Travel Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) - Matthews, NC

This position will immerse you in a dynamic acute care environment within multiple Adult/Med-Surg and Med-Tele units focused on decompressing the ED and specialty areas. You’ll enhance your clinical expertise and gain exposure to cutting-edge workplace practices in a prestigious, high-volume teaching hospital, working alongside diverse multidisciplinary teams. Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts: 7a–7p or 7p–7a
• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday staffing: Expectation to work 75% of holidays
• Advance 6-week schedule cycles

Qualifications:

• RN license (Med-Surg/Telemetry focus)
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Tele RN experience (Resource Team)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with Epic, cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke care, IV/PIV starts, trach care, drain/tube management, and medication infusion
• Familiarity with adult/geriatric diagnoses: COPD, CHF, pneumonia, DVT, GI bleed, etc.
• Will consider first-time travelers with strong experience

Responsibilities:

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adults and geriatric populations
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms; administer a variety of drips and blood products
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RTs, CNAs, hospitalists, and pharmacists
• Float between Med-Surg/Tele units and regional sites as patient needs demand
