Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) - Mississippi State, MS

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Registered Nurse seeking a dynamic role in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment. Serving for a 13-week duration, this contract position provides an excellent chance to work alongside a multidisciplinary team caring for a diverse patient population, including medical, orthopedic, general surgery, gastrointestinal, telemetry, and stepdown patients.

Schedule/Hours

• Rotating shifts with two distinct rotation patterns:
  • Rotation 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Thursday, Friday
  • Rotation 2 (Nights): Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday

Qualifications

• Active Mississippi State RN license
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Minimum of 3 years’ recent nursing experience, preferably in medical-surgical units
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic medical records required
• Demonstrated ability to manage a 5-7 patient load, including total care patients
• Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills

Key Responsibilities

• Provide thorough nursing care to a wide array of patients, including telemetry and stepdown
• Utilize EPIC for accurate documentation and care coordination
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
• Collaborate closely with physicians and multidisciplinary colleagues
• Prioritize patient safety and quality outcomes in all care activities
• Support and mentor less experienced team members when needed
