Medical-Surgical Nurse (RN) - Mississippi State, Mississippi

Schedule/Hours:

• 13-week contract
• Rotating night shifts, alternating between:
  • Rotation 1: Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun, Thurs, Fri
  • Rotation 2: Wed, Thurs, Fri, Tues, Wed, Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues

Qualifications:

• Active RN license for the state of Mississippi
• Current BLS certification
• Minimum of 3 years’ Med Surg nursing experience required
• Prior proficiency with EPIC electronic health record systems
• Ability to confidently manage a patient load of 5-7, including several total care patients
• Exceptional clinical judgment and communication skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive, compassionate care for a variety of adult patients within a busy medical-surgical unit
• Monitor and document patient status, administer medications, and implement care plans with precision
• Triage and respond rapidly to changes in patient conditions, utilizing telemetry and stepdown protocols as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely charting in EPIC and comply with facility standards
• Serve as a resource and mentor for less experienced staff as needed
