Experienced Registered Nurses with a background in Medical-Surgical practice will find this contract role offers variety and challenge through floating across multiple adult med/surg units. This position requires clinical expertise and adaptability as you will support patient populations aged 18+ within a large float pool environment.
Schedule & Hours
- Orientation Dates: 5/11 or 5/18
- 12-hour night shifts (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.)
- Weekend shifts required
- Scheduling determined by the unit
Qualifications
- Valid RN license in TN or active compact state license at application
- At least 2 years’ recent med/surg nursing experience
- Prior travel nursing experience mandatory
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Willingness to float between five med/surg units and the ER as needed
- Experience utilizing Cerner EMR preferred
- Navy scrubs required
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care within five adult med/surg units (with patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:6)
- Float to additional units, including the ER, as staffing needs arise
- Implement and monitor comprehensive care plans for a diverse adult patient population
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure cohesive, effective care
- Adhere to safety protocols and facility policies at all times
- Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
