Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in a Medical-Surgical (MS) RN role
- Proven experience working with oncology patients required
- Solid understanding of chemotherapy administration, side effect management, and cancer care protocols
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Exceptional assessment, critical thinking, and clinical documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and patient advocacy abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical and oncology patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation of outcomes
- Administer chemotherapy and monitor patients for adverse reactions or complications
- Educate patients and families about cancer treatment, symptom management, and general health practices
- Monitor and document changes in condition, communicate promptly with physicians, and adjust care plans as needed
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and thorough electronic health records per facility policies
- Uphold infection control standards and compliance with all regulatory guidelines
