Make a difference in patient care as a Registered Nurse skilled in Medical-Surgical and Oncology nursing. This contract role allows you to work with a skilled multi-disciplinary team, caring for patients requiring specialized oncology support within a medical-surgical environment.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time contract schedule
- Shifts may include days, nights, or weekends as needed for patient care
Qualifications:
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year recent experience in a medical-surgical unit
- Demonstrated expertise in oncology patient care; candidates without oncology experience will not be considered
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and patient advocacy skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary setting
- Current BLS certification (additional oncology-specific credentials a plus)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive patient care to medical-surgical and oncology populations
- Administer chemotherapy and manage side effects in coordination with physicians
- Monitor, assess, and document changes in patient conditions, escalating care when required
- Educate patients and families about treatments, medications, and ongoing health management
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards
- Participate in patient care planning, rounds, and multidisciplinary meetings
- Facilitate smooth transitions of care and thorough hand-offs at shift change
