Travel Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse in Northport, AL

Working in this diverse unit provides exposure to a wide spectrum of cases, from acute and chronic respiratory conditions to medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke or surgical needs. Collaborative daily rounds with a multidisciplinary team foster professional growth, enhance leadership perspectives, and introduce you to best practices unique to each facility. Schedule:

• 36 or 48 hours per week options, based on availability
• Every other weekend required
• Shifts scheduled for holidays as needed

Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Nursing (required)
• Active Alabama or Compact RN license (NURSYS-verified; no temporary licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification (or Red Cross accepted)
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience, but highly qualified candidates with 18 months and at least 1 year recent experience in Med-Surg/Respiratory will be considered
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed

Role Responsibilities:

• Care for patients with pneumonia, COPD, shortness of breath, and various respiratory diseases
• Support medical patients with GI issues, diabetes, and occasional stroke or post-surgical needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams during daily rounds
• Provide nursing care in both standard and step-down (higher acuity, 1:4 ratio) settings
