If you’re an experienced RN with a background in oncology looking for a dynamic and supportive environment, this Blood Cancer Unit assignment offers an outstanding professional experience. Schedule:

  • 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (Night Shift)

Unit Highlights:

  • 18-bed specialized Blood Cancer Unit
  • Strong, experienced staff with low turnover
  • Advanced technology: telemetry, bladder scanner, Alaris pumps/PCA
  • Meditech EMR system
  • Focus on nurse-led primary care, fostering autonomy and expertise

Required Qualifications:

  • Current RN license
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of recent hospital acute care oncology experience

Preferred Skills:

  • Chemo and biotherapy certification
  • Step down experience with acute hematology patients
  • Compassion for oncology patients and comfort with chronic illness

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering comprehensive nursing care to oncology patients, with a patient ratio of 3-4:1
  • Administering medications, blood transfusions, and electrolyte replacements
  • Supporting procedures like lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies (sedation/no sedation), and thoracentesis
  • Educating patients and families on their care and safety regarding hazardous drugs
