Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year experience in medical-surgical oncology nursing
- Strong knowledge of current oncology care protocols and best practices
- Proficient in administering chemotherapy, monitoring side effects, and managing patient symptoms
- BLS certification (required)
- OCN certification (preferred, but not required)
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to provide both patient and family education regarding treatment and recovery
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology patients throughout their treatment journey
- Monitor, assess, and document patient progress, reporting any changes to interdisciplinary care teams
- Administer chemotherapy and support other complex oncology treatments with attention to safety and accuracy
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and allied health staff to formulate and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on disease process, medications, side effects, and supportive care measures
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety requirements, and current nursing standards
