Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active and unencumbered RN license
  • Minimum of one year experience in medical-surgical oncology nursing
  • Strong knowledge of current oncology care protocols and best practices
  • Proficient in administering chemotherapy, monitoring side effects, and managing patient symptoms
  • BLS certification (required)
  • OCN certification (preferred, but not required)
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to provide both patient and family education regarding treatment and recovery

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology patients throughout their treatment journey
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient progress, reporting any changes to interdisciplinary care teams
  • Administer chemotherapy and support other complex oncology treatments with attention to safety and accuracy
  • Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and allied health staff to formulate and implement individualized care plans
  • Educate patients and families on disease process, medications, side effects, and supportive care measures
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, safety requirements, and current nursing standards
