Qualifications and Experience:
- Active and unrestricted RN license
- Minimum of one year of recent experience in medical-surgical oncology
- Proficiency in comprehensive patient assessment, medication administration, and chemotherapy protocols
- Strong understanding of oncology treatments, side-effect management, and patient education
- Exceptional communication abilities and a collaborative spirit for working alongside a multidisciplinary team
- Current BLS certification required
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver attentive, compassionate care to oncology patients, monitoring for changes in condition and responding promptly to acute needs
- Administer chemotherapy and other cancer therapies while adhering to safety standards and established protocols
- Perform detailed patient assessments, manage symptoms, and facilitate timely interventions to enhance patient comfort and health
- Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, side effect management, and home care strategies
- Collaborate with physicians and allied healthcare professionals for holistic care coordination and effective discharge planning
- Diligently document all care provided in accordance with facility guidelines and regulatory requirements
