Schedule:
- Night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license (Nursing – RN – MS Oncology)
- Minimum of 1 year recent, acute-care Oncology nursing experience in a hospital setting
- Current BLS certification
- Strong clinical skills and ability to manage acutely ill hematology patients
Preferred Experience:
- Chemo and biotherapy certification (not required to administer chemotherapy, but a plus)
- Step-down experience and comfort with advanced standing orders (e.g., fluid bolus, managing first fever)
- Compassion and adaptability; dedication to serving oncology patients with empathy and resilience
Unit Highlights & Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care on an 18-bed Blood Cancer Unit utilizing the latest medical equipment (telemetry, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps)
- Collaborate with a close-knit group of expert RNs and skilled CNAs—supported by a dedicated night shift charge nurse
- Maintain patient ratios of 3-4:1 for focused, high-quality care
- Participate in advanced procedures including lumbar puncture, bone marrow biopsy (with/without sedation), and thoracentesis
- Administer and monitor blood products and electrolyte replacements per evidence-based protocols
