As a part of the Blood Cancer Unit, you'll work in an 18-bed facility recognized for excellence with the prestigious “Unit of Distinction” honor in recent years—a testament to quality care and excellence in nursing. Littleton and nearby Denver provide a vibrant backdrop for personal discovery, with a lively urban scene, outdoor excursions, and unique local culture to enjoy during your downtime.
Schedule:
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality care to hematology and oncology patients in an acute care setting.
- Collaborate with experienced, supportive colleagues in a team-oriented culture.
- Monitor and manage medical equipment such as telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, Alaris pumps, and PCAs.
- Administer medications, blood, electrolyte replacements, and support complex procedures such as lumbar punctures, bone marrow biopsies, and thoracentesis.
- Participate in primary nursing responsibilities, championing evidence-based practices and prioritizing patient safety.
- Follow all unit guidelines, including safe handling of hazardous drugs and participation in continuous education when necessary.
Desired Experience & Skills:
- Active RN license.
- BLS certification required.
- Minimum 1 year recent acute care oncology experience in a hospital required.
- Preferred: Chemo and biotherapy certificate; strong step-down experience.
- Compassionate, adaptable, and eager to learn.
- Experience with Meditech EMR preferred.
