Bring your specialized nursing expertise to a dynamic Medical-Surgical Oncology unit. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses who are passionate about delivering comprehensive care to oncology patients and are comfortable administering chemotherapy. Nurses with hands-on chemo experience are highly valued, though a formal chemo certification is not required.
Schedule & Commitment:
- 5x8-hour shifts per week
- 40 hours guaranteed each week
- 13-week duration
Qualifications:
- Active Arizona RN license or compact state RN license required
- Minimum of one year experience in Medical-Surgical Oncology nursing
- Recent experience administering chemotherapy (no certification required)
- Ability to communicate effectively with oncology patients and multidisciplinary teams
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
- Current BLS certification
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality nursing care tailored to the needs of oncology patients
- Safely administer chemotherapy and monitor patients for side effects and reactions
- Collaborate with physicians, pharmacists, and other team members to coordinate patient care plans
- Educate patients and families about chemotherapy regimens, side effect management, and overall health maintenance
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation and patient records
- Adhere to evidence-based practices and facility protocols at all times
