Registered Nurse - Oncology in Wichita, KS

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in medical-surgical and oncology care to join a dynamic nursing team on a contract basis. This role involves providing high-quality patient care in a 24-bed unit, focusing on both general med/surg and specialized oncology treatments. Schedule:

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM shifts

Qualifications:

• Current RN license and eligibility to practice
• Med/Surg nursing experience is required
• Prior experience as a travel RN is highly valued
• Chemotherapy certification preferred
• ACLS certification is a plus
• Positive, team-oriented attitude essential

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage patient care in a primary nursing model, ensuring attention across a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Administer standard med/surg care and, if certified, chemotherapy treatments
• Monitor vital signs (VS every 8 hours; every 4 hours for remote tele patients)
• Collaborate closely with a dedicated charge nurse and a team of skilled nurses and care techs
• Use the Meditech EMR for all charting
• Communicate seamlessly with the care team via the unit’s iPhone system
• Support the orientation and integration of new staff members
