Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license in good standing
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a medical-surgical setting
• Previous oncology nursing experience is required
• Demonstrated knowledge of chemotherapy administration, cancer symptom management, and oncological emergency protocols
• BLS certification (additional certifications such as OCN preferred)
• Ability to communicate effectively with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families
• Proficiency in electronic medical records systems

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, focusing on both post-surgical and oncology-specific needs
• Administer chemotherapy, blood products, and other oncology treatments following protocol
• Monitor for side effects, promptly recognizing and responding to oncological and post-surgical emergencies
• Collaborate with physicians and support staff to develop and update patient-centered care plans
• Provide education to patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, medication protocols, and ongoing self-care
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient health record
• Adhere to infection control standards and hospital safety protocols
