Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse in Pelham, AL

Seeking a dedicated registered nurse with strong Med Surg experience to provide compassionate care during a 13-week contract assignment. This position offers a dynamic working environment with the opportunity to deliver quality patient care alongside an experienced healthcare team.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts
• 36 hours per week (3x12 hour shifts)
• 13-week contract

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted Alabama RN license or a multistate compact license (pending applications not considered)
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in the Med Surg specialty required
• Prior travel nursing experience is mandatory
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records system
• Demonstrated ability to adapt in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Strong communication and clinical assessment skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive patient care in the Med Surg unit, monitoring patient status and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring safe and accurate delivery
• Document all patient information, assessments, and interventions in Cerner accurately and thoroughly
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery processes, and discharge instructions
• Maintain compliance with facility protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards
• Assist in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures
• Provide leadership and mentorship to support staff as needed

• Flexibility is required; blocked schedules cannot be guaranteed but managers will try to accommodate as possible
