Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) - Pell City, AL

Opportunity available for a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse with strong skills in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing. This contract role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on patient care while working in dynamic units. The ideal candidate is confident floating between step-down, med-surg, and SDU (step-down unit) floors, ensuring consistent, high-quality care across multiple settings.

Schedule:

• 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
• Night shifts with a supportive clinical team
• Contract assignment

Qualifications:

• Current RN license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience as a Step Down or Telemetry RN
• Demonstrated confidence in floating to both med-surg and step-down units
• Prior experience working with Cerner electronic medical records (EMR)
• Excellent communication and adaptability skills
• Ability to excel in high-acuity and fast-paced hospital environments

Responsibilities:

• Deliver individualized, evidence-based patient care in accordance with professional standards and hospital policies
• Monitor and assess patients in the telemetry/step-down unit for any changes in condition
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
• Respond promptly to emergencies and demonstrate critical thinking in urgent situations
• Provide education and support to patients and families during hospitalization

$1,800 - $1,958/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
