Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse in Pinson, AL

Exciting opportunities are available for experienced registered nurses on the Unit 4 Surgical team, working with a respected acute care medical-surgical population. This contract assignment emphasizes high-quality care over 13–16 weeks with consistent night shifts and variable weekend and holiday demands.

Schedule/Hours:

• Night shifts
• 36 hours per week (3x12 hour shifts)
• Duration: 13–16 weeks
• Every other weekend required
• Three holidays required (combination of major/minor: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year’s Eve/Day)

Qualifications:

• Active Alabama or multistate compact RN license (no pending applications)
• Minimum of 2 years’ recent experience in medical-surgical inpatient settings
• Previous travel nursing experience is a must
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic health records system
• Flexibility to work varied schedules during the holiday period
• Blocked scheduling cannot be accommodated; schedule requests are considered but not guaranteed

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive and compassionate care to surgical and medical-surgical patients on a busy inpatient unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status according to established protocols
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary care teams to implement physician orders and tailor patient care plans
• Administer medications, assist with procedures, and support rapid response situations as needed
• Deliver patient and family education to promote optimal recovery and safety
