Experience critical care nursing in a dynamic and supportive environment at a major regional medical center in Prescott, Arizona. This travel RN opportunity specializes in Medical/Surgical Intensive Care, offering hands-on work with a variety of critical patients including post-operative cardiac patients, COVID cases requiring manual proning, and advanced circulatory support devices. Ideal candidates will bring strong clinical skills and the ability to confidently manage complex drips, interpret EKGs, and troubleshoot ventilators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage patient care in a 12-bed CVICU, 8-bed COVID unit, 8-bed MS ICU, and 16-20 bed PCU under critical care service lines
  • Provide 1:1-2 nurse to patient ratio in ICU and 1:3-4 in PCU, adapting care to patient acuity
  • Administer and titrate critical care drips including pressors, sedatives, paralytics, and antiarrhythmics
  • Monitor tele-monitors and read EKG strips independently
  • Collaborate with intensivists, NPs, and respiratory therapists present on-site
  • Participate in float rotations among ICU, PCU, and MST units as staffing needs dictate

Qualifications/Desired Experience:

  • Current RN license with Medical/Surgical and Intensive Care nursing experience
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS required; successful completion of dysrhythmia exam prior to contract
  • Strong skills in EKG interpretation, ventilator weaning and troubleshooting
  • Experience with IABP, Prismaflex CRRT, chest tubes, art lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and open heart surgery care preferred
  • Ability to titrate multiple critical drips and manage complex patients including post-MI, STEMI, PCI, cardiac surgical cases, and VAD devices

Schedule & Work Hours:

  • 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am) with schedules prepared 4 weeks in advance
  • Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per pay period, rotating through weekend day and night
  • Holiday coverage includes one holiday and one holiday eve per assignment period
  • Occasional on-call requirement during low census situations
