Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) - Rome, NY

Seeking a skilled registered nurse to deliver exceptional care within a medical-surgical (MS) setting, focusing on oncology patients. Key Qualifications:

• Active and unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of one year of recent nursing experience in a Med-Surg unit
• Demonstrated oncology nursing experience required
• Strong proficiency in patient assessments, critical thinking, and care planning
• Oncology certification (preferred)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams
• Current BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical and oncology patients, monitoring condition and response to treatment
• Administer chemotherapy, medications, and other therapies in compliance with established protocols
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, side-effect management, and ongoing care needs
• Utilize critical thinking to recognize complications or changes in patient condition, promptly reporting and intervening as necessary
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation in the medical record
• Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Support patients emotionally and psychologically throughout their hospital stay
