Exciting opportunities are available for experienced Registered Nurses specializing in Med-Surg/Orthopedics. This 13-week contract features night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) with guaranteed weekly hours of 36 or 48. Coverage every other weekend is required. Orientation is provided on day shift; candidates must be available the full orientation week.

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license eligible or issued in Missouri
  • BLS certification (AHA required)
  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient Orthopedic nursing experience
  • Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
  • Ability to float to similar or lower acuity units as needed
  • Strong teamwork, dependability, and flexibility
  • ACLS (AHA) preferred, but not required
  • Compliance with flu vaccination (or approved exemption) during flu season

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) for post-trauma, surgical, and comorbid patients
  • Coordinate care with ancillary staff to ensure optimal patient outcomes and comfort
  • Maintain professional accountability and uphold patient rights and confidentiality
  • Supervise and evaluate effectiveness of care provided by other caregivers
  • Document care and utilize EPIC EMR effectively
  • Adhere to established clinical guidelines, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, and facility standards

Additional Details:

  • Patient ratio: 1:6, unit size: 30 beds
  • Scrub color: Black; only approved attire allowed
  • Must stand/walk much of shift; ability to lift, turn, or assist patients required
  • No on-call; block scheduling may be available per facility needs (request upon submission)
  • Auto-offers are contingent upon facility approval and may be rescinded within 48 hours
  • Night shift requires attendance at day shift orientation
