This opportunity places you in a collaborative environment on the Davenport5 unit, which includes a 15-bed medical-surgical unit and an 8-bed surgical stepdown, focusing on post-operative care following surgeries such as general, GYN, vascular, thoracic, urology, oral, plastics, and trauma. Nurses here gain hands-on experience with diverse patient acuity, floating between units, and engaging with experienced teams using advanced systems like EPIC charting.

You’ll further distinguish your resume by working with various clinical scenarios and adopting best practices in telemetry and post-op care—all while enjoying valuable adventures in a city packed with museums, festivals, and nearby nature escapes.

Schedule/Hours

• Nights & Every Other Weekend, 36 hours/week
• All day positions require rotating shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a)
• Night shift rotation not required

Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License
• AHA BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years recent Med/Surg or Stepdown RN experience
• Proficiency reading telemetry strips (required)
• Skilled in managing chest tubes, NGT, epidurals, Capnography
• Preferred: Experience with arterial lines, neo-synephrine

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to post-surgical patients in stepdown and med/surg settings
• Float between surgical and medical units as needed
• Monitor and interpret tele strips
• Manage a patient ratio of 3-5 per RN (Med/Surg) and 2-3 per RN (Stepdown)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes
