Deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical-surgical/telemetry unit specializing in stroke, respiratory illnesses, renal failure, wound care, and peritoneal dialysis management. This contract opportunity offers experience in a 32-bed unit supported by comprehensive clinical resources, including 24/7 hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapists, and robust telemetry monitoring technology.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care within a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio in a Level 3 Trauma center.
- Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation and manage non-titrating cardiac drips such as Cardizem and Amiodarone.
- Conduct wound care, drain/tube management, peripheral IV starts, and central line care.
- Collaborate with CNA staff for activities of daily living, mobility, and feeding support.
- Utilize EMR (Epic) and advanced unit-specific technologies, including virtual nursing for monitoring and medication administration.
- Participate in regional floating assignments within scope and receive pay during travel times between facilities.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid RN license with minimum 2 years of med/surgical and telemetry nursing experience.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications.
- Skilled in telemetry basics and critical care protocols.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Willing to travel or relocate; permanent address must be outside a 50-mile radius of home unit.
Schedule: On-site, 12-hour night shifts, 5 days per week.
Contract Duration: February 9, 2026 - May 9, 2026.
