A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse with a focus on Medical-Surgical and renal patient care. This role offers the chance to work with adult and geriatric populations in a dynamic hospital setting where a wide range of acute medical conditions are treated.

Schedule & Hours:

  • Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating to similar units may be necessary
  • Holiday coverage per assignment: one or more major holidays depending on duration
  • Maximum of 7 consecutive days off allowed during assignment

Key Qualifications:

  • Active RN license with at least 2 years of recent Med/Surg experience (first-time travelers considered)
  • BLS certification (current)
  • Experience or strong competency in: renal-focused care, HD catheter management, manual and cycler peritoneal dialysis (PD), sepsis response, tele monitoring, CIWA protocol, UTI care, CKD management, and hypertensive emergencies
  • Comfortable with a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio and census averaging 18 in a 20-room unit
  • Familiarity with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR tools
  • Team player willing to float as needed

Role Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to adults and geriatrics with diverse Med/Surg and renal needs
  • Managing acute and chronic renal cases, including HD caths and PD
  • Monitoring patients for complications such as infection, sepsis, and hypertensive crises
  • Utilizing hospital EMR (Epic), automated medication dispensing (Pyxis), and standardized communication (SBAR)
  • Collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to ensure positive patient outcomes

Additional Details:

  • Navy or white scrubs (or combinations) required
  • Full compliance with onboarding and orientation necessary before start
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate
