Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) | Stockbridge, Georgia

Step into a vital nursing role serving adult and geriatric patients in a dynamic med/surg unit with a renal focus. This contract position offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated clinical care team, managing patients with diverse diagnoses including sepsis, CKD, UTIs, HTN emergencies, and more. You’ll play a key part in a unit that handles both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, with responsibilities extending to HD cath management, CIWA monitoring, and tele monitoring.

Schedule/Hours:

• 3x12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00)
• Every other weekend shifts required
• Floating to similar units as needed

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent relevant RN experience
• Med/Surg background with experience or willingness to manage renal patients
• BLS certification (required)
• Experience with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR
• First-time travelers welcomed

Role Responsibilities:

• Manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio on a 20-bed unit with an average daily census of 18
• Deliver compassionate, high-quality care for adults and geriatrics with acute and chronic renal conditions
• Administer and monitor dialysis treatments (HD cath, manual and cycler PD)
• Closely monitor for and respond to sepsis, UTI, ETOH withdrawal, and hypertensive emergencies
• Document and communicate care plans using Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and float to other units as the need arises

Unit Details & Requirements:

• Compliance with all onboarding and orientation processes is crucial
• Scrub colors: Navy, white, or approved combinations
• Must be available to work major holidays based on the assignment period
