Registered Nurse Med Surg | Stockbridge, Georgia

Advance your nursing career by joining a dedicated and collaborative medical-surgical team caring for adult to geriatric patients, with a special focus on renal care. This contract opportunity offers hands-on experience in a diverse unit environment, supporting patients with complex medical needs.

Schedule:

• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 – 19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating to similar units may be requested

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience (first-time travelers welcome)
• Current BLS certification
• Clinical experience with adult and geriatric populations
• Proficiency with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR communication
• Comfortable managing a 1:6 nurse-patient ratio in a setting with 20 beds, averaging 18 patients daily

Clinical Skills Sought:

• Versed in all aspects of Med/Surg nursing with an emphasis on renal care
• Experience with hemodialysis catheters and peritoneal dialysis (manual and cycler)
• Competency in sepsis management, TELE monitoring, managing CIWA protocol, UTIs, CKD, and hypertensive emergencies

Unit Details:

• Scrub colors: navy, white, or a combination
• No on-call responsibilities
• Rotational holiday coverage required depending on assignment length, including potential major holidays such as New Year, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas

Additional Details:

• Up to 7 days of requested time off permitted
• Compliance with onboarding and orientation required for timely start (non-compliance results in delayed start)
• Local candidates accepted
