Registered Nurse Med Surg | Stone Mountain, Georgia

Advance your nursing practice on a dynamic Medical-Surgical unit specializing in renal care. This contract opportunity offers meaningful work with adult and geriatric populations, supporting a diverse patient census in a well-equipped hospital environment.

Schedule/Hours:

• Day shift: 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
• Every other weekend required
• RTO (Requested Time Off): Maximum 7 days
• Holiday coverage per assignment period as outlined
• Floating to other units

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• First-time travelers welcome
• Current BLS certification required
• Clinical expertise in Med/Surg, with emphasis on renal including:
  • HD catheter management
  • Manual/peritoneal dialysis (PD) cycler
  • Telemetry monitoring
  • Sepsis management
  • CIWA protocol for ETOH
  • UTI, CKD, HTN emergency management

Responsibilities:

• Provide safe, effective nursing care for a patient ratio of 1:6, across 20 rooms with an average census of 18
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to manage complex cases and deliver comprehensive renal care
• Document care and interventions using Epic; manage medications with Pyxis and communicate through SBAR protocols
• Adapt to dynamic unit needs, including floating as required
• Comply with all orientation, clinical screen, and start requirements
