Experienced registered nurses are invited to care for adult and geriatric patients on a dynamic medical-surgical unit with a focus on renal care. This contract opportunity features a supportive team, a varied patient population, and exposure to a wide range of medical complexities.

Schedule:

  • 3 x 12-hour day shifts (07:00 - 19:00)
  • Every other weekend rotation
  • Opportunity or expectation to work major holidays as applicable
  • Floating within the unit may occur
  • Maximum of 7 days requested time off allowed

Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent med/surg nursing experience (first-time travelers welcome)
  • BLS certification required
  • Strong skills in HD catheter management, manual PD/PD cycler, sepsis care, tele monitoring, CIWA protocol for ETOH, UTI, CKD hypertension emergency
  • Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
  • Ability to work with Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR unit systems

Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to a ratio of 1:6 patients (average daily census: 18)
  • Deliver care to patients with acute and chronic renal conditions and other complex medical needs
  • Monitor and interpret telemetry and respond appropriately to emergent situations
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Adhere to the highest standards of documentation and patient safety protocols
  • Engage in unit procedures and compliance tasks to meet facility guidelines

  • Wear navy, white, or a combination of these scrub colors
  • Full compliance required before start; prompt adherence to onboarding deadlines is necessary due to fixed orientation scheduling
