Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) in Trussville, AL

Schedule & Hours:

• Night shifts
• 36 hours per week (3x12 hour shifts)
• 13-week assignment

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license in Alabama or a compact multistate RN license (must be current; no pending applications)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Medical-Surgical nursing
• Prior travel nursing experience is required
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records
• Flexibility in scheduling; while managers strive to honor preferences, blocked schedules cannot be guaranteed
• Dedicated, reliable, and responsive to dynamic clinical settings

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care and respond to medical needs on a bustling Med-Surg floor
• Monitor, assess, and record patient progress and vital signs
• Administer medications, treatments, and IV therapies according to physician orders
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families to deliver quality patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in Cerner EMR
• Foster a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and colleagues
