This travel opportunity is based in a dynamic medical-surgical and respiratory unit—a 42-bed facility specializing in acute and chronic respiratory care, with additional support for patients with GI concerns, diabetes, stroke, and surgical needs. Nurses here work with a supportive interdisciplinary team, participate in daily rounds, and have the chance to float between units, gaining insights into various patient populations and advancing their clinical acumen. Schedule/Hours:
- Choice of 36 or 48 hours per week
- Holidays as required
- Every other weekend
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Associate degree in nursing
- Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or via Compact (no temporary licenses)
- Current AHA BLS or Red Cross certification
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience (will consider 18 months under certain conditions, including at least 1 year of recent specialty experience)
- Willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed
Typical Responsibilities:
- Manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio; respiratory step-down at 1:4
- Deliver comprehensive care to respiratory and medical-surgical patients
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary staff in daily patient rounds
- Adapt to the care needs of a varied patient mix
