Seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse with a strong background in oncology nursing to provide high-quality care to patients in a dynamic hospital environment. In this contract role, you will play an integral part in patient treatment plans, assisting with assessments, medication administration, and specialized oncology protocols alongside a dedicated healthcare team.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract position; schedule details provided during interview.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current RN license in good standing
  • Minimum of 1 year recent experience in Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg) nursing
  • Must have direct oncology experience, with demonstrated competency in oncology-specific care (chemotherapy administration, symptom management, patient education)
  • BLS certification required (and other credentials as required by facility/state)
  • Excellent assessment and communication skills
  • Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary setting
  • Strong documentation and critical thinking abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and oncology patients
  • Monitor patients vigilantly for treatment response and adverse reactions
  • Administer medications, including chemotherapy, with attention to safety protocols
  • Provide patient and family education regarding disease processes, treatment plans, and side effect management
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists, and ancillary staff to coordinate patient care
  • Maintain meticulous patient records and participate in discharge planning
  • Foster a supportive, compassionate environment for patients undergoing treatment
