Med-Surg Registered Nurse (RN) - Utica, NY

Qualifications:

• Current, active RN license
• Minimum one year recent experience in a medical-surgical setting
• Previous experience working with oncology patients is required
• Proficient in patient assessment, care planning, and medication management for oncology populations
• BLS certification (current)
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
• Compassion, adaptability, and dedication to evidence-based practice

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide, coordinate, and document direct patient care for oncology and med-surg populations
• Assess patient conditions, monitor for changes, and implement timely interventions
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and families in care planning and delivery
• Administer medications, including chemotherapy as assigned, with attention to safety
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans, treatments, and symptom management
• Maintain accurate records in accordance with hospital standards
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and HIPAA guidelines
• Support quality improvement initiatives and participate in ongoing learning
