In this fast-paced setting, you'll care for a variety of patients, including those requiring interventions for pneumonia, COPD, GI disturbances, diabetes, and more. The unit also supports an 8-bed respiratory step-down area, offering the unique opportunity to practice across different acuity levels, further enhancing your clinical repertoire. Flexibility is essential, as you may float to other units or affiliated hospitals, supporting a broad spectrum of medical needs.

Schedule/Hours

• 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• Holidays as required
• Every other weekend shift rotation

Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing (ASN) required
• Active Registered Nurse license in Alabama or Compact state (no temporary licenses)
• AHA or Red Cross BLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (18 months considered if recent, with at least 1 year in relevant specialty)
• Willingness to float to other units and hospitals

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to medical and respiratory patients
• Administer respiratory therapies, monitor patient responses, and support step-down care
• Participate in patient rounds and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team
