This contract opportunity is ideal for nurses passionate about delivering comprehensive care to diverse adult populations, including post/pre-cardiac and step-down ICU patients. You’ll join a high-acuity 30-bed unit, renowned for clinical innovation and teamwork, where patient ratios are RN: 1:4-6 and CNA support is robust.
Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
- Weekend rotation: 5-6 shifts per 6-week schedule
- No on-call requirements
- Major holiday coverage: 1 shift each (Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Year’s)
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of recent medical-surgical/telemetry RN experience
- Active RN license and current BLS certification
- Basic Cardiac Rhythm (BCR/EKG Rhythm) required during onboarding
- ACLS preferred, not required
- Strong clinical assessment skills in a Level 1 Trauma setting
- Proficiency in IV/PIV insertion and central line care
- Skilled in trach and chest tube management, titration of medications (excluding BP drips)
- Comfortable with EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, and telemetry monitoring
- Experience with wound, post-op, cardiac, and diabetes management
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care, cardiac monitoring, and thorough patient assessment
- Perform medication administration, IV/catheter management, and wound care
- Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams for discharge planning and patient teaching, with focus on renal/fluid management
- Float to other med-surg/telemetry units as needed
Unit & Facility Support:
- 24/7 respiratory therapy, hospitalist, and intensivist coverage
- CNA support for patient care, with additional phlebotomy and unit secretary resources
- Robust orientation: 1 day facility, 2 days department-specific
