This direct hire opportunity welcomes experienced advanced practice providers to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, delivering exceptional care to critically ill and recovering infants—from their first moments in the delivery room through to discharge.
Schedule:
- All shifts available—variable 12 or 24-hour shifts (schedule assignment; no shift selection)
Qualifications:
- Active Tennessee Licensed Nurse Practitioner (or ability to obtain within 3 months according to state requirements)
- Minimum of 2 years’ NICU experience required
- Master’s degree in Nursing required
- Extensive neonatal/critical care skill set as an RN-NICU or Nurse Practitioner
- Independent decision-making and patient management capabilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document health histories for neonates, including comprehensive, system-focused, or symptom-specific assessments
- Deliver advanced care to critically ill and medically complex NICU patients
- Order, perform, interpret, and collect medical data and diagnostic procedures as indicated
- Develop differential diagnoses to treat acute and chronic neonatal conditions
- Prescribe and implement therapeutic interventions (pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, surgical) to achieve patient-centric outcomes
- Provide delivery room services, neonatal transport, and serve as a consultation resource within scope of practice
- Coordinate transitions of care, including admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Participate in collaborative patient rounds and multidisciplinary treatment planning
- Complete necessary documentation efficiently and accurately
