Embark on a NICU nursing assignment in a dynamic, high-acuity pediatric environment. This contract opportunity spans 26 weeks within a leading teaching hospital, nationally recognized as a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and accredited Chest Pain and Certified Stroke Center. With a 24-bed unit maintaining an average census of 21–23 patients, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to delivering advanced neonatal and pediatric care.
Schedule:
- 26-week contract
- May consider 48-hour/week guarantee—details to be confirmed during the interview process.
- Schedule cycle is every 6 weeks.
- No on-call required for travelers.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active RN license, with BLS and PALS certifications required.
- Minimum 2 years of recent, high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR.
- Experience in complex interventions, including Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino device, rapid infusers, critical care drip titration, invasive line management, and ventilator/trach care.
- Comfortable working with a broad spectrum of diagnoses, including trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical, renal failure, transplants, orthopedic, and complex medical conditions.
- Ability to float to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, and general pediatrics as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert care to neonates and children in fast-paced, high-acuity settings.
- Manage a variety of devices and perform critical skills, from bedside procedures to CRRT.
- Maintain precise documentation and communication within interdisciplinary teams.
- Support discharge planning, family education, and cross-training into multiple pediatric specialties.
- Adhere to aseptic practices, safety protocols, and established workflows.
