Registered Nurse - NICU in Gastonia, NC

Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse with specialized experience in NICU and high-acuity Pediatric ICU settings for a 26-week contract. This role offers the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art, teaching hospital featuring 247 licensed beds, a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center, and centers of excellence in cardiac and stroke care.

Schedule:

• 26-week contract, with possible 48-hour/week guarantee (to be discussed during interview)
• No on-call required for travelers
• Schedule cycle is every 6 weeks
• Float to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, and General Peds as needed

Qualifications:

• Active RN license with current BLS and PALS certifications
• Minimum 2 years’ strong, recent experience in a high-acuity Pediatric ICU
• Competence in fast-paced, critical care environments
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Skilled in Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino devices, critical care drip titration, invasive line management, ventilator/trach and HOFV management, and more (see details above)
• First-time travelers welcome

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to complex pediatric patients with conditions such as respiratory, trauma, DKA, neurosurgical, and transplant needs
• Manage patient ratios based on acuity (from 2:1 to 1:1)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including 24/7 intensivists, resource nurses, and support staff
• Float between units as necessary to meet patient care needs and maintain continuity of care
• Participate in two-day departmental orientation and onboarding
