Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity providing specialized nursing care in a dynamic NICU environment. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact in a teaching hospital, recognized as a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center, with 247 licensed beds and an average NICU census of 21-23 patients.

Schedule & Hours

  • 26-week contract assignments
  • Schedule cycle every 6 weeks
  • No mandatory on-call for travelers
  • May offer up to 48-hour workweek upon confirmation

Qualifications & Experience

  • Active RN license with BLS and PALS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years’ high acuity Pediatric ICU experience required
  • Confident in fast-paced, high-acuity clinical settings
  • Proficient in EPIC documentation
  • Experience with technologies/equipment: Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino (ICP/temp), Belmont Rapid Infuser, Alaris & Medfusion pumps, ventilator/trach management, CRRT, and management of invasive lines (ART/CVP)
  • Ability to float to Pediatric CVICU and other pediatric units as needed
  • Open to first-time travelers

Primary Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based care to critically ill pediatric patients including management of respiratory, trauma, neurosurgical, renal, and surgical cases, as well as transplant and complex medical conditions
  • Maintain safe patient ratios based on acuity (1:1, 1:2, or 2:1)
  • Perform bedside procedures, advanced monitoring, and medication/drip titration
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team: charge nurses, intensivists, residents, CNAs, RTs, and support staff present 24/7
  • Provide patient and family education, discharge planning, and uphold strict aseptic and sterile technique standards
