Step into a critical role supporting neonatal patients and their families within a high-acuity Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As an advanced practice provider, you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to manage the comprehensive needs of critically ill and recovering infants from admission through discharge.
Schedule:
- All shifts available; variable 12- or 24-hour rotations (shift assignment based on unit needs)
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree required
- Active Tennessee Nurse Practitioner license, or eligibility to obtain within 3 months per state guidelines
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Registered Nurse in a NICU setting
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and document thorough health histories and neonatal physical assessments
- Provide direct care management of neonates, addressing both acute and chronic conditions
- Collect, evaluate, and interpret diagnostic data and order appropriate studies/interventions
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, identifying and tracking expected outcomes
- Prescribe and manage therapeutic interventions, including pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and surgical treatments as appropriate
- Perform delivery room services and participate in neonatal transport as required
- Initiate referrals and consultations, supporting seamless transitions across healthcare settings
- Take an active role in admissions, transfers, and discharges within the NICU
