As a Registered Nurse specializing in NICU care, your expertise will be pivotal in a major academic medical center with a Level 1 Trauma designation, serving a diverse and complex neonatal population.

This assignment provides an opportunity to work within a high-acuity setting, collaborating with experienced teams in a hospital renowned for clinical excellence and innovative care. With robust in-house support, exposure to teaching hospital protocols, and frequent collaboration with specialized pediatric departments, you’ll broaden your clinical practice, learn from varied approaches to patient care, and expand your professional toolkit for future advancement.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
  • Weekend rotation: every other weekend minimum
  • No call
  • Holiday coverage: 75% required for travelers

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license, BLS & NRP certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years NICU experience
  • Proficiency in basic vent management, central line and tracheostomy care, pre/post-surgical and g-tube management
  • Experience with gavage, bottle, and breastfeeding support
  • Skilled in blood transfusion and infant venous stick procedures
  • Experience with EPIC EMR

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based, compassionate care to neonates ranging from 23 weeks gestation to full term, including surgical and medically complex cases
  • Manage pre/post-operative infants (NEC, CDH, etc.)
  • Collaborate closely within multidisciplinary teams and participate in supportive, highly collaborative unit culture
  • Float as needed to General Pediatrics, PICU, Adolescent Pediatrics, and Pediatric Hem/Onc units
