Advance your nursing career in a dynamic Pediatric Intensive Care environment. This role offers a 26-week contract with potential for a 48-hour workweek, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high-acuity setting. This hospital is renowned as a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching facility, with cutting-edge resources to support both patients and clinical staff.

Schedule:

  • 26-week contract duration
  • May include 48-hour/week guarantee (to be confirmed)
  • No call required for travelers
  • Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks

Qualifications & Required Experience:

  • Active RN license
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications
  • Minimum two years of strong high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience
  • Proficiency with EPIC EMR, Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino device, Belmont Rapid Infuser, and critical care vasoactive drip titration
  • Competence in ventilator/trach care, management of invasive lines, CRRT, and various bedside procedures
  • Ability to float to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, and general pediatric units as needed
  • First-time travelers are welcome

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert nursing care to neonates and children with conditions such as respiratory failure, trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical needs, renal failure, complex medical and surgical cases, transplants, and blood disorders
  • Adapt to nurse-patient ratios that vary by acuity (1:1, 2:1, 1:2)
  • Collaborate closely with a comprehensive support team, including health care techs, charge nurses, intensivists, and residents
  • Use state-of-the-art equipment for monitoring, medication delivery, and rapid-response interventions
  • Provide safe, compassionate, and respectful care in alignment with unit values of teamwork, accountability, and trust
