Advance your nursing career in a dynamic Pediatric Intensive Care environment. This role offers a 26-week contract with potential for a 48-hour workweek, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high-acuity setting. This hospital is renowned as a Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and teaching facility, with cutting-edge resources to support both patients and clinical staff.
Schedule:
- 26-week contract duration
- May include 48-hour/week guarantee (to be confirmed)
- No call required for travelers
- Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Active RN license
- Current BLS and PALS certifications
- Minimum two years of strong high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR, Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino device, Belmont Rapid Infuser, and critical care vasoactive drip titration
- Competence in ventilator/trach care, management of invasive lines, CRRT, and various bedside procedures
- Ability to float to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, Neonatal PCU, and general pediatric units as needed
- First-time travelers are welcome
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver expert nursing care to neonates and children with conditions such as respiratory failure, trauma, DKA, seizures, neurosurgical needs, renal failure, complex medical and surgical cases, transplants, and blood disorders
- Adapt to nurse-patient ratios that vary by acuity (1:1, 2:1, 1:2)
- Collaborate closely with a comprehensive support team, including health care techs, charge nurses, intensivists, and residents
- Use state-of-the-art equipment for monitoring, medication delivery, and rapid-response interventions
- Provide safe, compassionate, and respectful care in alignment with unit values of teamwork, accountability, and trust
