Registered Nurse - NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) - Madison, Wisconsin

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active and unencumbered RN license
• Minimum of one year experience in a Level III or IV NICU preferred
• Current certifications in BLS and NRP required
• Strong clinical assessment, IV, and critical thinking skills
• Proven ability to remain calm and focused in high-acuity situations
• Effective communication skills to interact with medical teams and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care for neonatal patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and supporting ventilated newborns
• Accurately document care, interventions, and patient responses in electronic medical records
• Collaborate with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and multidisciplinary staff to carry out individualized care plans
• Provide ongoing parent and family education about patient status, NICU procedures, and discharge planning
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety protocols
• Support infection prevention standards and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
