This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced RN-NICU professionals who thrive in fast-paced settings and are dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care for critically ill neonates and children.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 26-week contract
  • Schedule cycle repeats every 6 weeks
  • May be eligible for a 48-hour/week guarantee

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active RN license with BLS and PALS certifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of high-acuity Pediatric ICU experience required
  • Proficiency with EPIC charting system
  • Strong skills in critical care procedures: ventilator/trach management, invasive lines (ART/CVP), vasoactive drips, and advanced monitoring devices (Artic Sun, EVDs, Camino)
  • Familiarity with Alaris & Medfusion pumps, Belmont Rapid Infuser, Omnicell, Phillips monitors, and other outlined specialty equipment
  • Competency to float to Pediatric CVICU, NICU, PCU, and general Peds units as needed
  • Open to first-time travelers eager to expand their experience

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert, compassionate nursing care to a diverse pediatric patient population (including trauma, respiratory, neurosurgical, renal, transplants, orthopedic, and hematologic diagnoses)
  • Maintain appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios based on acuity (ranging from 1:1 to 2:1)
  • Collaborate within a robust care team (including 24/7 support from CNAs, unit secretaries, phlebotomy, IV/VAT teams, RT, intensivists, residents, and APPs)
  • Ensure the highest standards of aseptic technique, medication and infusion management, bedside procedures, and discharge teaching
  • Adapt to floating assignments within pediatric critical care units as patient needs demand
