This advanced practice nursing opportunity offers an essential role within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, providing high-level care for neonates in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Here, you will independently manage critically ill and recovering infants from admission through to discharge, ensuring optimal outcomes for vulnerable patients and their families.
Schedule/Hours:
- Variable shifts: 12 or 24 hours (all shifts assigned, not selectable)
Qualifications:
- Active Nurse Practitioner license in Tennessee, or eligibility to obtain within 3 months as per state guidelines
- Master’s degree in Nursing required
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Experience in NICU or RN-NICU settings highly desired
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document comprehensive health histories for neonatal patients.
- Conduct thorough physical examinations and develop detailed plans of care.
- Deliver healthcare services for critically ill and complex neonates; oversee all aspects of patient management and care transitions.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, analyze clinical data, and form appropriate differential diagnoses.
- Formulate and implement therapeutic interventions (pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and surgical) as needed.
- Participate in delivery room and neonatal transport services; initiate referrals and collaborate with other specialists as appropriate.
- Admit, transfer, and discharge patients, guiding families and supporting effective continuity of care.
- Take on additional duties as assigned within the scope of neonatal advanced practice nursing.
This position provides a competitive compensation package, including a generous potential sign-on bonus available to qualifying candidates with at least two years’ experience, payable in installments after set milestones. For those relocating more than 100 miles, a significant relocation allowance is available.
