Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) - Amherst, MA

Deliver vital support in the Operating Room as a highly skilled RN. This contract opportunity offers the chance to work alongside talented surgical teams, assisting surgeons in a lead capacity through the conclusion of operative procedures. Responsibilities extend to circulating as needed and ensuring every patient receives exceptional care in line with top clinical standards.

Schedule:

• Four 10-hour shifts weekly
• On call two weekdays per week from 5pm (or shift end) to 7pm
• On call one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every third weekend, 24 hours per day

Qualifications:

• Graduate from an approved School of Nursing
• Active RN licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
• ACLS certification required
• Completion of an RN First Assisting course adhering to the AORN Core Curriculum
• At least five years of peri-operative nursing experience with proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating roles
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from either the AHA or American Red Cross

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons in a lead RN role from the start to the end of operative procedures
• Perform circulating responsibilities as assigned to ensure patient safety and seamless surgical workflow
• Adhere strictly to established organizational and departmental policies and best practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
