Registered Nurse - Operating Room - Arvin, California

Deliver specialized patient care assisting in the Operating Room as a Registered Nurse First Assistant on a contract assignment. This position is essential for ensuring optimal surgical outcomes through collaboration with surgeons and perioperative team members. The role requires both RN-Operating Room and RNFA credentials.

Schedule:

• 10-hour mid shifts, 6:30 am – 5:00 pm
• Includes call coverage: one weekday until at least 11:00 pm per week
• At least one continuous weekend (Friday 6:30 am – Monday 6:30 am) call coverage every six weeks

Qualifications:

• Current, active RN license
• Completion of an accredited Nursing program
• RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) certification required
• Minimum of two years’ experience in an OR first assistant role preferred
• Advanced understanding of operative techniques, patient safety, and sterile procedures
• BLS and ACLS certifications (current)

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as first assist and circulator in a variety of surgical procedures
• Provide intraoperative and immediate pre/postoperative care alongside the surgical team
• Ensure proper use and handling of instruments, surgical supplies, and equipment
• Communicate with surgeons and interdisciplinary care teams to anticipate and support patient needs
• Maintain strict adherence to infection control, documentation, and quality standards
• Participate in call schedule for after-hours surgical cases as required
