Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Current and unencumbered RN license
  • At least one year of recent Operating Room experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices
  • Experience with a range of surgical procedures and OR equipment
  • Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical staff
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver safe, competent nursing care to surgical patients throughout the perioperative process
  • Prepare the OR by ensuring all necessary supplies, instruments, and equipment are available and functional
  • Serve as scrub or circulating nurse, anticipating needs of the surgical team
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control and patient safety protocols
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient status before, during, and after surgery
  • Communicate updates and respond to needs of the surgical team, patients, and their families
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and professionalism at all times
