Position Requirements:

  • Associate degree in nursing from an NLN-accredited institution required; BSN preferred
  • 1–2 years of recent operating room nursing experience
  • Active RN license in Alaska, in good standing
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications (PALS preferred)
  • National certification in Surgery/PACU is an advantage
  • Must show proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination series
  • Proficient in medical terminology, assessment, patient education, and care coordination
  • Familiarity with AORN standards and a strong grasp of the perioperative nursing process

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive patient care using assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation principles
  • Oversee care delivery for all surgical patients, ensuring age-appropriate and culturally sensitive interventions
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team for optimal surgical outcomes
  • Administer medications, interpret diagnostic tests, and communicate effectively with staff and patients
  • Supervise and guide administrative and support staff as needed
