Operating Room RN in Biddeford, ME

Expand your nursing experience in a dynamic operating room setting, working alongside a dedicated surgical team and caring for patients from pediatric to geriatric ages. This contract position offers the opportunity to make an impact in a high-acuity environment focusing on ENT, dental, plastics, pediatric, and trauma procedures, including complex head and neck surgeries.

Available schedules provide flexibility to suit your preferences: choose between 4x10-hour or 4x12-hour shifts. Regular weekday hours begin at 7:00 am, with shifts ending at either 5:00 pm or 7:30 pm (36-40 hours per week), with some weekend or on-call coverage required.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in operating room nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications; PALS certification preferred
• AORN certification is a plus
• Confident in managing ENT, dental, plastics, pediatric, and Level 1 trauma cases
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative surgical team environment
• Proficient with EMR systems (Epic experience desired)
• Flexible, patient-focused, and a reliable team player

Position Responsibilities:

• Deliver safe perioperative nursing care for a wide variety of surgical patients
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary team members for optimal surgical outcomes
• Assist with advanced procedures, including laryngoscopy, sinus surgery, cochlear implants, oral surgery, and more
• Monitor patient status and document accurately in EMR
• Maintain a safe environment and adhere to infection control standards
