Play a key role in surgical patient care by leveraging your specialized skills as a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room. This contract opportunity invites an experienced RN to collaborate alongside talented surgeons and surgical staff, contributing expertise to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a safe perioperative environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Active RN license in good standing
- Proven experience working as an Operating Room RN (RN-OR)
- Skilled in all phases of perioperative care, including pre-op, intra-op, and post-op responsibilities
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities with multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to respond calmly and effectively in high-pressure, fast-paced surgical settings
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operating room by ensuring all supplies, equipment, and instruments are ready
- Serve as scrubbing and circulating nurse, anticipating the needs of surgical teams
- Monitor patient status and accurately document care throughout surgical procedures
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile and aseptic techniques
- Safeguard patients’ safety, comfort, and privacy at every stage of the operative process
- Educate patients and families about surgical and post-operative expectations
- Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists
- Adhere to facility policies, protocols, and all state/federal regulatory requirements
