Registered Nurse - Operating Room (OR RN) in Bristol, CT

Advance your nursing career in a dynamic surgery environment focused on patient-centered care. An exciting contract opportunity is available for skilled Registered Nurses with operating room expertise to support surgical procedures in a high-acuity setting.

Schedule/Hours:

• 4 ten-hour shifts per week, 6:30am–5:00pm (flexible on exact times)
• Weekday call: one day per week, 5:00pm–7:00am
• Weekend call: 48 hours (Saturday and Sunday), one weekend per month

Qualifications & Experience:

• Current RN license with unrestricted practice eligibility
• At least one year of recent experience in an Operating Room (OR) setting
• Strong knowledge of operating room protocols and sterile technique
• Spine surgery experience preferred for optimal patient outcomes
• Scrubbing proficiency preferred; willingness to scrub cases is a plus
• Ability to remain calm in urgent and emergent situations
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with the surgical team

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct, comprehensive care to OR patients before, during, and after surgery
• Circulate and/or scrub as needed during diverse procedures, including spine cases
• Ensure adherence to infection control and safety standards for optimal patient safety
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs
• Document procedures, responses, and care rendered accurately and promptly
• Respond to call requests efficiently, demonstrating flexibility in a fast-paced environment
