Registered Nurse - Operating Room | Brooklyn, Michigan

Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse for a contract role supporting a dynamic surgical team. This position plays a vital part in ensuring high-quality, compassionate patient care throughout the perioperative process using expert clinical judgement and collaboration within a team-based environment.

Schedule:

• Shifts: 8:30am – 9:00pm
• Call: 1 call shift per week (9:00pm – 7:00am)
• Weekend Call: Every sixth weekend (Saturday/Sunday, either 7:00am–7:00pm or 7:00pm–7:00am)

Qualifications:

• Active RN license required
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience circulating in a Level 2 (or higher) trauma operating room
• Previous work with robotics, orthopedic trauma, and neuro cases
• Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing processes
• Excellent assessment, planning, and critical thinking abilities
• Ability to effectively communicate with team members, patients, and families
• No cardiac (heart) surgery experience necessary

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the coordination of patient care in the operating room from admission through discharge
• Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs and implement optimal care plans
• Circulate during procedures involving robotics, ortho trauma, and neuro surgeries
• Supervise and delegate patient care activities appropriately
• Document all care provided with attention to accuracy and detail
• Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring safe and effective care delivery
• Participate in problem-solving when patient goals are unmet, collaborating to implement solutions
• Support education needs for patients and families regarding procedures and recovery

$2,236 - $2,365/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
