Experienced registered nurses with a focus on the Operating Room are sought for contract opportunities in a dynamic, high-acuity surgical environment. Work with a skilled perioperative team serving a diverse patient population, ranging from pediatric to geriatric, and participate in a wide variety of complex surgical procedures including ENT, dental, plastics, trauma level 1, and head & neck surgeries.
Available shift options include 4x10 hour or 4x12 hour schedules, with shifts starting at 7 a.m. (example: 7 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7 a.m.–5 p.m.), with occasional weekend or call requirements. Scrubs are provided, and the department utilizes the EPIC EMR system.
Qualifications:
- Current RN licensure and BLS, ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of recent OR nursing experience
- Proficiency with surgical procedures such as laryngoscopy, cochlear implants, facial plastics, oral/maxillofacial, and trauma interventions
- Strong experience in fast-paced, team-oriented OR settings
- PALS certification preferred; AORN certification strongly desired
- Previous exposure to ENT, dental, plastics, pediatric, and Level 1 trauma surgeries highly beneficial
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Flexible, adaptable, and patient-focused approach
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive perioperative nursing care, including pre-op assessment, intraoperative support, and post-op monitoring
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs for optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain surgical asepsis and adherence to infection control and safety standards
- Ensure clear documentation and accurate use of the EPIC medical record system
