Advance your nursing career in a dynamic surgical environment, providing essential intraoperative care and support to patients and surgical teams. This contract position offers a structured schedule and the opportunity to utilize advanced peri-operative skills in a multidisciplinary setting.
Schedule:
- Four 10-hour shifts per week (4x10s)
- On-call responsibility two days a week (from 5p or end of shift to 7p)
- One weekend of call (24 hours per day, Saturday and Sunday) every three weekends
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current, unrestricted RN license in Massachusetts
- Active ACLS certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Completion of an RN First Assisting course meeting AORN Core Curriculum standards
- Minimum five years of diversified peri-operative nursing experience, with strong proficiency in both scrubbing and circulating roles
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary assistant to the surgeon throughout operative procedures, maintaining sterile technique and anticipating surgical needs
- Circulate cases as required, delivering comprehensive patient care and coordinating with surgical team members
- Ensure adherence to all hospital policies and regulatory requirements in the operating room setting
- Support patient safety, comfort, and positive surgical outcomes through expert clinical interventions
- Participate in on-call coverage as scheduled, providing rapid, high-quality responses to emergency or urgent surgical situations
