Step into a crucial role supporting advanced surgical care as an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room. This contract opportunity features a consistent 4x10s schedule with essential on-call responsibilities for optimal patient coverage. The position involves direct collaboration with surgeons, assuming a lead role until procedure completion, and at times, circulating based on operational needs.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 4x10s schedule (four 10-hour shifts per week)
  • On-call two days weekly from 5pm (or end of shift) to 7pm
  • One on-call weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every three weeks, 24 hours each day

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an approved School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in Massachusetts
  • ACLS certification required
  • Completion of an RN First Assisting course aligned with the AORN Core Curriculum
  • At least five years of peri-operative nursing experience, proficient in scrubbing and circulating roles
  • Current BLS certification through AHA or American Red Cross

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide skilled, first-assist support to surgeons throughout operative procedures
  • Circulate as needed, adapting quickly within the dynamic surgical environment
  • Maintain high standards of patient safety and care in adherence to established protocols and guidelines
  • Collaborate closely with surgical team members, fostering effective communication and workflow
  • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with hospital policies
